Our award winning inclusive business model, Asili plus. Shalem’s core business is identifying markets and marketing dry farm produce; processed and milled flour or whole grains and cereals. Shalem makes business through Contract farming; identifying large scale markets, linking farmers with appropriate extension and other services so that they produce target quality and quantities of produce that Shalem buys at predetermined prices and sells to the predetermined markets at a profit. Shalem Investment Ltd has developed an integrated inclusive Business Model that thrives on addressing the needs of rural small scale as Agribusiness partners.The Business Model focuses on reducing the cost of production for target Smallholder farmers who are currently over 40,000 spread all over Kenya. Shalem is also working to improve the adaptation and resilience of the farmers to climate change. The Business Model has won several accolades among them; the 2015 Rabobank International Agribusiness incubation award and the 2017 Indo Global SME Chamber award.
